Although I'd been writing seriously since 1988, I did not enter my first writing competition until eight years later. In 1996 I entered the Outdoor Writers of Canada National Communication Awards and placed in three categories including a first place in Television/broadcasting category. Since then I've received 23 National and International awards for photograhy and writing as follows:
